(THE FOUNDATION OR OIF) IS A GEORGIA NON-STOCK CORPORATION INCORPORATED IN 1970 WITH THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THE BONE DISORDER OSTEOGENESIS IMPERFECTA (OI) THROUGH RESEARCH INTO TREATMENTS AND A CURE, EDUCATION, AWARENESS, AND MUTUAL SUPPORT. THE FOUNDATION'S HEADQUARTERS ARE LOCATED IN GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND.
