The Kindora data exchange

How collaboration works

Kindora lets a nonprofit buy one record at a time from partner datasets with the credits it already holds. This page is the public price list and the rules behind it, in plain language.

One credit buys

8¢

of partner data, the same for every source

Goes to the partner

80%

of every credit spent on a record

Partners are paid by the

25th

of the following month, after an itemised statement

The short version

  • One reference value

One credit is worth 8¢ of partner data. That reference value is the same for every source.

  • One split, announced ahead

Of every credit spent on a partner record, 80% goes to the partner and 20% to Kindora. Effective October 13, 2026. A change to this split is announced 90 days ahead.

  • A launch incentive

Launch incentive: for the first 4 partners, Kindora's share is 0% for the partner's first 12 months, up to $5,000 of payout value, whichever comes first.

  • Cash credits only

Buyers prepay. Only credits bought with cash can buy partner data; free, trial and promotional credits cannot.

What a record costs

Every listed source, with its price, the fields a record returns and the terms its publisher set. The price here is the price you see before each call.

When you are charged, and when you are not

  • Paid once, served again

A record you already paid for is served again from your evidence record at no charge, as long as it is still within its retention period and you ask the same question with the same fields.

  • Nothing back, nothing charged

If the partner returns an error, times out or returns an empty record, nothing is charged.

  • Your caps stop the job

A job stops at your per-job cap and at your workspace's daily cap. It is stopped, not merely warned.

  • Never on credit

If Kindora's billing cannot be reached, the call does not happen. A partner record is never fetched on credit.

  • A wrong record is refunded

A delivered record is not refundable by default. If you believe a record was wrong by the partner's own published field definitions, raise it within 15 days: Kindora reviews it, and if the record was wrong you are refunded.

  • Which credits are spent

Credits are spent from the lot that expires soonest. Partner records draw only from cash lots; ordinary Kindora features spend promotional credits first.

How partners are paid

From the moment a record is delivered to the day the money arrives.

  1. A record is delivered

Every delivered record writes one accrual to the ledger at the moment it is delivered, with the partner's share in whole mills, so the sum is exact and rounding happens once, on the statement.

  2. The statement

On the 10th of the following month the partner receives a statement for the month, itemised line by line, with a CSV attached.

  3. The dispute window

The partner has 3 business days to dispute the statement. Silence is approval.

  4. Payment

Payment goes out by the 25th of the following month.

  • Small balances

Balances under $100 roll forward to the next statement. Nothing is ever forfeited.

  • Refunds and chargebacks

A refund or a lost chargeback on a record already paid for is offset against the partner's next statement, never clawed back from a paid one. A month never goes below zero; a negative month is carried forward as an offset.

Chargebacks, withheld items and related parties

  • A disputed card payment

When a buyer's card payment is disputed, the unspent credits from that payment are frozen and the partner accruals it funded are withheld from the next statement, with the reason shown to the partner. A lost dispute reverses them; a won dispute releases them.

  • Withheld pending review

Usage that looks like self-dealing or a velocity anomaly is withheld pending review, and the partner is told what is withheld and why.

  • Related parties

A partner attests the workspaces it controls or is affiliated with. Usage from those workspaces earns no payout. An omitted related account forfeits the affected accruals.

What each party can see

  • The public

The public sees this page: every price, every source's fields and terms, the reference value, the split with its effective date and the payout calendar.

  • A buyer

A buyer sees the price before each call, a running usage view by source, the caps it set and statements of what it bought from whom.

  • A partner

A partner sees calls, credits, reference value, Kindora's share, disputes, withheld items and related-party exclusions, plus monthly statements. Buyers appear to partners by workspace type, sector and country only; a buyer's identity reaches a partner only when the buyer chose to disclose it.

The license every record carries

Each partner answers four questions about its data in the Exchange Data Agreement: caching and storage, derived works, AI and model training, and redistribution. Those answers are what you see at the price check above. A source is listed only if its answers allow Kindora to show its records to you inside the product. The partner warrants to Kindora that the data was collected lawfully, and Kindora passes the same warranty to you.

The four questions

  • Caching and storage
  • Derived works
  • AI and model training
  • Redistribution

Kindora's own data carries the same rules in the other direction. See the Data Use Policy.

Hold data that nonprofits and funders need?

Partners set the price and the terms for each source, keep their records on their own systems, and are paid on a monthly statement they can check line by line. Tell us what you hold.
