Projects must include student participation, particularly local students from the project location, and must use geophysics or other geosciences. Projects involving unexploded ordnance detection, political lobbying, proselytizing, or activities unrelated to the SEG or GWB mission are ineligible. Previously funded applicants must have completed prior project reports and demonstrated measurable success and appropriate use of funds.
Who can apply: Organizations must operate and/or serve clients in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or Kentucky. Housing and shelter requests are accepted for eligible nonprofits.

Who can apply: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or apply through a qualified 501(c)(3) fiscal agent. Organizations must demonstrate a feasible plan to complete and sustain the proposed activity, provide evidence of organizational capacity and viable operating plans, and submit required organizational, financial, board authorization, budget, and tax-exempt documentation. The Foundation generally supports stated areas of interest and does not provide all project funding; applicants should demonstrate broader community support. The next grants may be limited to K-12 education, companion animal welfare, or water resources. Applicants proposing other projects are encouraged to submit a letter of intent stating the organization's mission, project, budget, and requested amount.
