THE CONCILIO BEGAN AS DALLAS CONCILIO OF HISPANIC SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS AND IN 2010CHANGED ITS NAME TO THE CONCILIO. FOUNDED IN 1981 TO FILL THE ROLE OF COLLABORATIVEPARTNER IN RESPONSE TO THE NEEDS OF AN EMERGING HISPANIC POPULATION, THE CONCILIOEDUCATED NONPROFITS AND OTHER AGENCIES ON EFFECTIVELY REACHING THIS GROWINGDEMOGRAPHIC. FOR 39 YEARS, THE CONCILIO HAS SPECIALIZED IN OUTREACH TO THE HISPANICCOMMUNITY, AS WELL AS ACTIVELY WORKING WITH OTHER EFFECTIVE, EXISTING LOCALAGENCIES. TODAY THE CONCILIO PROVIDES DIRECT SERVICES THAT FULFILL ITS MISSION "TOBUILD STRONGER COMMUNITIES BY EMPOWERING PARENTS TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATION AND HEALTHOF THEIR FAMILIES."
