Keren Yom Tov is a Brooklyn-based Jewish philanthropic fund that concentrates overwhelmingly on Orthodox Jewish education and institutional support, directing large grants to yeshivas, Torah centers, seminaries and congregational educational programs. Its giving pattern shows repeated, multi-year support to a small group of affiliated institutions (both U.S.-based and Israel-focused) alongside charitable assistance to community welfare organizations. The foundation prioritizes sustaining day schools, advanced Torah study centers, and institutional infrastructure over one-off project grants.
Keren Yom Tov Inc. shows a clear pattern of repeated support for Orthodox Jewish educational institutions, with one of its largest recent grants going to American Friends of Yaadir Torah for $725,000 in 2025. The foundation’s recent awards also include multiple large grants to Yeshiva Darchei Eretz School, including $657,781 in 2023, $655,020 in 2025, and $580,704 in 2025, indicating sustained backing for the same institution over time. Much of its funding goes to yeshivas, Torah centers, seminaries, and related communal organizations rather than individuals or broad public programs. The grant list also shows support for organizations such as Ahavat Shalom, Kht Yesodot Hatorah, and Bet Midrash, suggesting a portfolio centered on religious education and institutional continuity. The foundation’s giving is not limited to classroom instruction alone; some grants are directed to communal and charitable arms tied to Jewish institutions, including entities in Brooklyn, New York, Lakewood, New Jersey, and other Orthodox Jewish communities. Across the recent record, the emphasis is on sustaining established educational and religious infrastructure through institutional grants that recur across years and recipients.
In Orthodox Jewish education, Keren Yom Tov Inc. backed Yeshivat Ateret Torah with $40,075 in 2025 and Or Hachaim Girls Seminary with $33,000 in 2023. It also supported Bet Midrash with $88,625 in 2025, alongside a prior $59,750 grant in 2023, reinforcing its interest in advanced Torah study settings. Community religious infrastructure is another visible theme: the foundation gave $25,000 to Shaare Zion Torah Center in Brooklyn in 2025, reflecting support for synagogue-linked educational programming. Charitable institutional support appears as well, with grants such as $46,084 to Bnei David of Long Branch and $37,300 to Keter Aram Tzova in 2025. The recipients are mostly schools, Torah centers, seminaries, and related community institutions rather than individuals.
Typical grants cluster in the low five figures, with a p25 of $7,500, a median of $12,100, and a p75 of $33,850. The recent record shows repeat support to the same recipients across multiple years, including Yeshiva Darchei Eretz School, Ahavat Shalom, Bet Midrash, Hky Kol Yaaob, Chesed Lavraham, and American Friends of Yaadir Torah. That pattern points to ongoing institutional funding rather than isolated project grants. Keren Yom Tov Inc. does not fund individuals and is not shown making program-related investments. The recent grant list consists of educational and charitable grants to institutions, consistent with a foundation-style grantmaker supporting organizations directly.
