Event Support (Event & Festival Funding)
Who can apply: Applicants must be counties, municipalities, units of local government, not-for-profit organizations, or federally recognized Native American tribes located within the National Heritage Corridor boundaries. Events must occur within the Corridor and showcase a direct connection to the canal historically or today. Private individuals and for-profit businesses are ineligible. Staff time, food and beverages, and general organizational advertising are ineligible, although event-specific advertising is allowable. A minimum one-to-one match of non-federal funds is required; cash, in-kind donations, and volunteer hours may count.
Deadline: 2027 applications open October 13, 2026 and are due November 20, 2026; awards announced February 2027.
