About Worksystems
Worksystems Inc centers its grantmaking on a regional workforce system, with a clear emphasis on helping unemployed adults, underemployed workers, job seekers, and people in transition move into work. The largest recent grant in the record went to Irco for provision of workforce development, and the same program area appears across many of its major awards. Portland Community College is another recurring recipient, also funded for workforce development, which points to a steady relationship with postsecondary training and career pathways. The foundation’s portfolio also includes Portland Youth Builders, Central City Concern, Latino Network, Oregon Tradeswomen, and Mt Hood Community College, all supported for workforce development in recent years. That pattern suggests a funder focused less on one-off projects than on maintaining a network of providers that can reach different populations and support training, placement, and advancement. Across the recent grants listed, the common thread is not a single issue silo but a coordinated labor-market strategy linking education, employer alignment, and service delivery. Worksystems Inc’s stated purpose is to coordinate a regional workforce system that supports individual prosperity and business competitiveness.
What Worksystems Funds
Worksystems Inc concentrates on job training and skills development. A 2025 grant of $1,444,077 to Portland Youth Builders for provision of workforce development fits that theme, especially because the foundation’s focus areas also include youth employment programs and career services. Adult upskilling and workforce reentry are another clear lane: Human Solutions received $925,529 in 2025 for workforce development, alongside earlier support in 2024 and 2023. The foundation also backs employer-linked training pipelines. Mt Hood Community College received $1,115,014 in 2025 and $1,070,323 in 2023 for workforce development, showing continued support for credentialing and workforce preparation. Oregon Tradeswomen was funded $1,059,543 in 2024 and $542,768 in 2025, reflecting support for training connected to industry-specific pathways, including construction.
How Worksystems Gives
Grant size is broad, with a p25 of $97,290, a median of $402,248, and a p75 of $1,100,199. The recent record shows repeated support to the same organizations across multiple years, including 2023, 2024, and 2025, which indicates an ongoing operating relationship rather than isolated awards. Worksystems Inc is a regular funder, not a DAF, and it does not make program-related investments. The available grants also suggest a pattern of substantial programmatic or project support tied to workforce services rather than individuals or one-time personal aid.
