About Stanley W Metcalf Foundation
The Stanley W Metcalf Foundation Inc. repeatedly backs Auburn-area institutions that need buildings repaired, spaces upgraded, or programs kept running. Its largest recorded recent grant went to Auburn YMCA - Weiu for HVAC work at the pool and support of operations, pointing to a clear interest in preserving community facilities that residents use directly. Other large awards show the same pattern in different settings: Cayuga Community College received funding for its development center, and The Rev Theater Co received support for property renovation on Franklin Street and related renovations and code satisfaction. The foundation also extends this approach to public-serving organizations such as the Seymour Library Foundation, the Faatz-crofut Home for the Elderly, and United Way of Cayuga County. Across the record, the funder appears to favor practical, local investments that help nonprofits maintain physical infrastructure, deliver services, and create access to education, recreation, and community life in Auburn and nearby communities.

It also supported Fort Hill Cemetery Association with $28,000 for capital improvement, including steps and roadways. Education appears as another recurring purpose.
