About Meringoff Family Foundation
The Meringoff Family Foundation Inc. stands out for sustained, hands-on support of New York City nonprofits working with young people, especially organizations using new approaches in education and graduation support. Its grantmaking also reaches into medical research, animal welfare, and services for youth with disabilities, but the pattern in the recent grants is clearest in the recurring backing for NYC-based institutions and community programs. In the recent grant list, Guild Hall of East Hampton Inc. received $275,000, while Veterinarians International received $200,000, showing that the foundation funds both cultural and service-oriented work at substantial levels. Other sizeable awards went to Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation Inc., Movenyc Foundation Inc., and NY Stem Cell Foundation, which points to a portfolio that mixes arts, civic life, mobility, and science. The foundation’s grants are frequently described as support for charitable purposes, and several repeat recipients suggest ongoing relationships rather than one-time awards.
