The Jacobson Family Foundation concentrates substantial, high-value gifts to a small set of organizations in New York and to Jewish/Israel-focused education and community institutions. Major support flows to leading cultural institutions (Lincoln Center), major medical care (New York‑Presbyterian), and Jewish/Israel education and communal services (American Israel Education Foundation, UJA‑Federation). The foundation gives few but large grants, often repeating support to the same organizations.
The Jacobson Family Foundation C/o Proskauer Rose LLP J Waxenberg has made repeated large grants to a small group of New York institutions, with Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, New York-Presbyterian Fund Inc, Uja-Federation of New York, and the American Israel Education Foundation appearing again and again in the recent record. That pattern points to a funder that backs a limited roster of cultural, medical, Jewish communal, and Israel-focused organizations rather than a wide spread of recipients. Recent grants show a mix of operating-style charitable support and education-oriented gifts. In 2024, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts received $1,296,000, and New York-Presbyterian Fund Inc received $900,000 in the same year. The foundation also gave $625,000 to the American Israel Education Foundation in 2023, 2024, and 2025, indicating a sustained relationship with that organization. Uja-Federation of New York also received more than one substantial grant across the recent years on file. The recipient list is entirely U.S.-based, with most grants staying in New York.
In the arts, the foundation supported Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts with $1,296,000 in 2024 and $275,000 in 2023, showing repeated backing for a major New York cultural institution. In medical giving, New York-Presbyterian Fund Inc received $900,000 in 2023, $900,000 in 2024, and $407,772 in 2025. Northwell Health Foundation also appears in the record with $126,800 in 2023, and Northwell Health received $100,000 in 2025. Jewish communal and Israel-focused support is another clear thread. The American Israel Education Foundation received $625,000 in each of 2023, 2024, and 2025. Uja-Federation of New York received $707,500 in 2024 and $454,250 in 2023.
Typical grants are small relative to the foundation’s larger awards, with a p25 of $1,015, a median of $3,600, and a p75 of $16,000. The recent record also shows a long tail of much larger gifts, including repeated six- and seven-figure grants to a narrow set of recipients. Several organizations appear in multiple years, including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, New York-Presbyterian Fund Inc, Uja-Federation of New York, and the American Israel Education Foundation. The foundation is a private family foundation; it does not fund individuals and does not make program-related investments.
