CommonSpirit Community Health Improvement Grants (CHIG) — includes Health Equity & Advancement Fund (CHEAF)
Who can apply: Applicants must be IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (or use a fiscal agent that is a 501(c)(3)) in good standing. Projects must address one or more significant needs identified in the applicable hospital CHNA/implementation strategy, have a sustained project activity of 9–12 months, and serve people within the hospital’s service area, prioritizing underserved or vulnerable populations. Proposals of $20,000 or more must include collaborating partner organizations with distinct substantive roles. Project budgets limit equipment and computer purchases and cap indirect costs at 10%. Ineligible: unrestricted general operating support, event sponsorships, activities under 9 months, capital projects, lobbying/political campaigns.
