The Moses L Parshelsky Foundation concentrates its giving on services for people who are blind or visually impaired, directing all recorded grants to Vision Services for the Blind & Visually Impaired. Grants are sizable and focused on direct care and program support for that population rather than a broad portfolio of causes. The foundation appears to prefer sustained, repeated support to a single beneficiary organization.
Moses L Parshelsky Foundation C/o Financial Comfort Inc has a tightly focused grantmaking pattern centered on services for people who are blind or visually impaired. Across the recent grants list, the foundation repeatedly backed Visionsservs for Blind & Visually Impaired with $60,000 awards in 2023, 2024, and 2025, making that organization a clear anchor in its portfolio. The foundation also shows steady support for elder care and health-related community services, including repeated grants to Metropolitan Jewish Health System Foundation and The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn. Those awards sit alongside support for organizations serving older adults, patients, and local community populations in New York City. The foundation’s giving is not broad-based; it is concentrated and recurring, with the same recipient organizations appearing year after year. That pattern points to long-term institutional support for direct service delivery, especially in disability services, elder care, and selected New York-area healthcare and community organizations. The foundation’s recent activity suggests a preference for sustaining established providers rather than rotating among many unrelated causes.
Services for people who are blind or visually impaired are the foundation’s clearest priority. It gave $60,000 to Visionsservs for Blind & Visually Impaired in 2025, following the same amount in 2024 and 2023 for care of the blind. Elder care is another recurring area: the foundation awarded $50,000 to Metropolitan Jewish Health System Foundation in 2025 for care of elderly, and also made similar grants in prior years. Healthcare support appears in its grant to National Jewish Health for medical centers, with $25,000 awarded in each of 2023, 2024, and 2025. The foundation also funded The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center with $50,000 in 2025 for general activities, showing support for broader institutional operations as well as direct-population services.
The typical grant size is modest but meaningful: the 25th percentile is $3,500, the median is $5,000, and the 75th percentile is $12,000. The recent record shows repeated awards to the same organizations over multiple years, which indicates recurring support rather than one-time giving. It does not fund individuals and does not make program-related investments. The foundation’s pattern is consistent with direct grant support to established institutions, often for operating or programmatic needs tied to specific service populations.
