Annual Grants Program (James and Shirley Rippey Family Foundation)
Who can apply: Applicants must be nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. Organizations are more likely to receive grants if located in Oregon, especially the Portland metropolitan area, serve children, and have a history of operation. Priority is given to previous grantees. Organizations are less likely to receive grants if they serve very small numbers of children, discriminate on the basis of race, ethnic origin, sex, or creed, are private foundations under section 509(a), have program expenses below 70% of total expenses, or do not regularly have audited financial statements. Organizations not funded in the previous year must first submit a Letter of Inquiry.
Deadline: Letter of Inquiry deadline: May 31. Grant application deadline: September 1. Applications are reviewed annually in October.
