NREC Research and Education Project Grants
Who can apply: Applicants submit research or education project proposals. Proposals should address NREC priorities, provide a feasible work plan, identify investigators, cooperators and locations, include annual and total budgets, and explain agronomic, economic, environmental, and outreach impacts. Priority is given to multidisciplinary projects involving multiple sites and collaboration among universities or other entities. Proposals are limited to ten pages, with a one-page synopsis. Salary generally may not exceed 45% of total grant funding, indirect costs may not exceed 10%, and tuition remission is not allowable.
Deadline: The 2021/2022 RFP deadline was May 7, 2021. Historical RFP deadlines were May 8, 2020 and October 2, 2018; the program operates on an annual RFP cycle, with RFPs issued in the spring under the October-September funding cycle.
