The Glenn Greenberg and Linda Vester Foundation concentrates almost exclusively on private education, making very large, multi-million dollar gifts to select independent schools and to higher education institutions. Their support is focused on capital/charitable and institutional strengthening rather than broad community programs, with repeat, sizable investments in the TASIS school network and a major gift to Yale.
Highly concentrated giving: very few grants but extremely large amounts, repeated multi-million-dollar support to the same school network and one prominent university; appears focused on capital/endowment-level contributions rather than small or diverse grants.
Glenn Greenberg and Linda Vester Foundation Inc’s recent giving is dominated by major capital gifts to private education, especially the TASIS network in Puerto Rico. In 2025, the foundation made a $14,488,291 grant to Tasis Educational Foundation in Dorado, PR, alongside a $7,578,494 grant to Tasis Dorado Educational Foundation Inc and a separate $4,000,000 gift to Tasis Dorado. Those awards point to a highly concentrated approach: large, institution-level support for a small set of schools rather than broad programmatic funding. The foundation also backs higher education and named campus projects. Recent grants include $10,000,000 to Yale University Temple Wing in New Haven, CT and $600,000 to Yale Cozza Field, showing a preference for physical facilities and capital needs. Other education-related gifts extend to universities and education organizations, including Northwestern University, Loyola Marymount University Endowment, and the Institute of International Education. Across its portfolio, the foundation appears to use sizable charitable grants to strengthen private schools, university spaces, and related educational infrastructure. A notable feature of the recent record is repeated support to the same institutions over multiple years, especially across the TASIS entities and Yale.
A core theme is international private K–12 campus development. The foundation gave $14,488,291 to Tasis Educational Foundation in Dorado, PR for charitable purposes, and followed with $7,578,494 to Tasis Dorado Educational Foundation Inc and $4,000,000 to Tasis Dorado. These gifts indicate sustained backing for the TASIS campus in Puerto Rico. Higher education is another clear lane. They awarded $10,000,000 to Yale University Temple Wing in New Haven, CT and $600,000 to Yale Cozza Field, both tied to campus facilities. The foundation also gave $1,640,000 to Northwestern University and $1,200,000 to Loyola Marymount University Endowment. Beyond campuses, the foundation supports education-related organizations. Recent examples include $2,000,000 to Facing History and Ourselves in Boston, MA and $1,025,000 to The Posse Foundation in New York, NY.
Grant sizes are large and clustered at the top end: p25 is $59,062, median is $225,000, and p75 is $500,000. That distribution fits a portfolio built around selective, high-dollar awards rather than many small grants. The grant record also shows recurrence: Tasis Dorado Educational Foundation Inc appears in 2023, 2024, and 2025; Yale University appears in 2023 and 2024; Facing History and Ourselves and The Posse Foundation both reappear across multiple years. The foundation is a regular funder and does not fund individuals or make program-related investments.
