The East Central Regional Arts Council's mission is to support the arts and bring the life enhancing values they afford to all Region 7E residents. ECRAC is committed to providing opportunities for all in the arts by fostering inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in our organization and in the Region 7E arts community.
A recurring pattern in East Central Regional Arts Council’s recent grantmaking is large project support to arts organizations and public-facing community groups across Region 7E. The biggest award in the file is $55,567 to Franconia Sculpture Park for an art project grant, followed by $40,000 to the same grantee the year before, showing support that can extend beyond a single award cycle. The council also backed Walker Methodist Levande with $24,500 in 2024 and $21,300 in 2023, indicating repeated funding for arts projects in Cambridge. Other sizable project grants went to Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community, Unexpected Company Chorale, and several city-based recipients in east-central Minnesota. The grant list shows a mix of cultural venues, municipal arts efforts, historical organizations, and school-linked arts work. That mix fits the council’s stated mission to support the arts for Region 7E residents and to foster inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in the local arts community. The council’s recent awards are concentrated in Minnesota and are directed to organizations rather than individuals.
Arts project funding is the clearest theme in the recent grants. East Central Regional Arts Council gave $20,758 to Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community for an art project grant and $19,038 to Unexpected Company Chorale for the same grant type. Municipal arts programming also appears in the file: the council awarded $15,000 to City of Isanti and $14,500 to City of Pine City for art projects. School-based arts support is another visible strand. Hinckley-finlayson Public Schools received $5,500 for an art project grant, and the council also runs an Art in Our Schools Grant program for organizations supporting art projects in schools. Community heritage and civic arts uses show up in awards to the Chisago County Historical Society and the City of Mora.
Recent grants cluster around a typical award size in the low five figures, with a p25 of $10,607, a median of $14,750, and a p75 of $15,000. The file shows repeated awards to the same recipients across multiple years, including Franconia Sculpture Park, Walker Methodist Levande, Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community, and City of Mora. That pattern suggests short-term or project-based support rather than permanent operating commitments. The council is a regular funder, not a DAF, and the grants shown are one-time or short-term awards tied to specific projects.

All of the recent grants in the file went to recipients in Minnesota, with 100% of grants landing in the HQ state. The most visible recipient cities include Frania? Wait fix. Cities such as Cambridge, Pine City, Hinckley, North Branch, Mora, and Lindstrom appear multiple times. Recent awards also reached Wyoming, Princeton, Braham, Onamia, Sandstone, and Isanti, showing a regional footprint centered on east-central Minnesota rather than one city alone.
The recent grants show support for nonprofit arts organizations, community arts groups, and public-sector recipients such as city governments and schools. Examples in the file include arts councils, chorales, sculpture and art centers, historical societies, and school districts or public schools.
Typical awards are in the low five figures. The grant-size distribution in the file shows a p25 of $10,607, a median of $14,750, and a p75 of $15,000.
Yes. Several recipients appear in more than one year, including Franconia Sculpture Park, Walker Methodist Levande, Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community, City of Mora, and City of North Branch. That indicates repeated project support for some organizations.
The active programs point to operating support, school art projects, legacy/community arts grants, emergency resiliency support, professional development scholarships, and Zoom Pro reimbursement. Recent grants also show arts projects tied to municipalities, schools, heritage groups, and community arts organizations.
