Founded in 1999, BUILD began as a drop-out prevention program to prepare students of color in under-resourced communities to thrive in school and life. Launched in 2011, BUILD Boston began with 90 students in four schools as a dropout prevention program preparing low-income students of color to thrive. Today, BUILD's four-year entrepreneurship program serves more than 300 Boston students and recent alumni in our six core partner schools, supplementing traditional classroom instruction with real-world business experiences and critical skill-building. Minds Matter Boston (MMB) connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. MMB believes in the power and potential of our students and refuses to be complacent to the systemic inequities that currently exist for our students. Though structural & socioeconomic forces have historically deprived them of opportunities that prepare them for higher education, MMB students courageously defy the odds. The program is typically 3 years in length (grades 10 - 12) and provides a comprehensive curriculum to prepare its students for college. MMB's program provides wrap-around services, including 2:1 mentoring, professional ACT and writing instruction, access to college-immersion summer programs, and personalized college advising, to ensure that these promising students have equal opportunity to gain admission to, enroll in, and graduate from competitive four-year colleges

Project Bread - The Walk for Hunger Inc's mission is to alleviate, prevent, and ultimately end hunger in Massachusetts by making food accessible to those who need it, raising public awareness about hunger issues, advocating for policies to prevent hunger, and empowering people to take action through initiatives like the Walk for Hunger itself; essentially aiming to ensure no one in Massachusetts goes hungry

BENEFIT CHILDREN

Wily provides critical support services to children that age out of the foster agencies. They help young adults successfully go to college - providing services that are normally done by families such as moving into dorms/proving bedding, financial aid assistance, vacation housing, internship and job placement, on campus support services as well as additional coaching and social networking. They sponsor students at Boston College, Middlebury, Boston University, UMass and other schools.

For 29 years, Mother Caroline Academy has been quietly doing the work to create a pathway out of poverty through education for low income families. As Boston's only tuition free option for middle school girls, we seek to address the opportunity gap for girls and their families in need. Mission-driven, dedicated staff provide both a strong academic program along with wrap-around services to help each student achieve her full potential.

The mission is to enrich the lives of people living with autism and their families by exposing them to the unique experience of surfing offering free one day events across the United States.

Lawyers for Civil Rights runs a program called BizGrow. BizGrow provides free legal assistance, business support, and technical assistance to minority, immigrant, and women business owner - ensuring that these business owners encounter fewer obstacles and have greater opportunities. This assistance takes the form of direct free legal representation, technical assistance, and workshops for small business owners on subjects such as entity formation, contracts, taxes, leases, and intellectual property. Since 2015, BizGrow has grown from a program that served approximately 50 entrepreneurs to serving over 1,200 entrepreneurs in 2021. During the pandemic, BizGrow spearheaded a coalition of over two dozen organizations (consisting of for-profit businesses, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies) that served as a clearinghouse for free legal support to businesses here in Massachusetts during the pandemic."
