About Agua Fundinc
Agua Fundinc primarily operates as a grantmaker that channels large, flexible gifts through intermediaries rather than making many direct program grants. Nearly all recent giving flows into a donor-advised fund and a community foundation, with explicit emphasis on board-directed social services and environmental grants in the Collier County/Florida area. The foundation appears to prioritize enabling other grantmaking vehicles to do local service and environmental work rather than running its own programs.

About Agua Fundinc
A single $496,978 grant to The Agua Donor Fund, labeled for general support, shows how Agua Fundinc often works: through intermediaries, with large flexible gifts rather than many direct program-specific awards. That pattern fits its profile as a pure DAF provider and its recent mix of environmental, social services, and civic engagement funding. On the environmental side, the foundation has repeatedly supported groups such as the Piedmont Environmental Council with six-figure general support grants in 2023, 2024, and 2025. In the social services portfolio, it has backed organizations serving older adults, home health care, and related community support, including Iona Senior Services. Civic participation is another recurring thread, with grants reaching groups focused on voting rights and public engagement in Virginia and Pennsylvania. The recent-grants list also shows support for Native-led and Native-serving partners, which aligns with the foundation’s stated priorities in Indian Country and among underrepresented communities. Across these areas, the grants are often unrestricted or broadly designated for general support, suggesting the funder favors organizational capacity and coalition work over narrowly scoped projects.
What Agua Fundinc Funds
Environmental grantmaking is a core part of Agua Fundinc’s portfolio. It gave $175,000 in 2024 and $150,000 in 2025 to the Piedmont Environmental Council for general support, and another $100,000 in 2025 to the Southern Environmental Law Center for general support. The environmental program also includes water, conservation, and biodiversity work in Virginia, Western Colorado, and Indian Country. On civic engagement, the foundation supported Pennsylvania Voice with $95,000 in 2025 and New Virginia Majority with $93,500 in 2024 for general support. It also made a $75,000 grant to the Native American Voting Rights Fund in 2025, showing that voting rights funding extends to Native-led partners. Social services funding includes aging-in-place and community care. Agua Fundinc gave $70,000 in 2025 to Iona Senior Services for general support and for the Long Term Care Coalition.
How Agua Fundinc Gives
Agua Fundinc’s typical grant size sits at $20,000 at the 25th percentile, $30,000 at the median, and $51,938 at the 75th percentile. Recipients appear across multiple years, including repeated grants to the same organizations in 2023, 2024, and 2025, which points to ongoing relationships rather than one-off gifts. The foundation is a pure DAF provider and also funds individuals. Its listed programs do not accept unsolicited applications.
