About Pincus Family Foundation
The Pincus Family Foundation concentrates almost all of its giving on child health, with a strong emphasis on supporting pediatric global health initiatives and capacity-building at premier institutions. Their gifts are large, strategic, and long-term in nature — notably funding an endowed global health fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and unrestricted support for global pediatric programs. The foundation appears to favor a small number of high-impact grantees rather than broad, diversified funding.

About Pincus Family Foundation
The Pincus Family Foundation’s defining pattern is a repeated, multi-year commitment to pediatric global health through the David N. Pincus Global Health Fellowship Endowment at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation. That endowment appears in the largest recent grants, with awards of $2.1 million in 2023 and $2 million in both 2024 and 2025, showing a sustained relationship rather than a one-time gift. Beyond that flagship fellowship support, the foundation also backs children’s health work through unrestricted funding for Children’s Global Health Fund Inc. and institutional support for Boston Medical Center Corporation’s Center for the Urban Child and Healthy Family. The foundation’s giving is not limited to one hospital setting: it also supports training, research, and service models that connect child health with education and community wellbeing. Recent awards include funding for Temple University’s Pincus Urban Health Fellowship fund, the Wistar High School Program in Biomedical Research and authentic classroom learning, and Manna’s meals for children impacted by serious illness and research collaboration with CHOP. Across these grants, the foundation uses direct institutional support, endowment funding, and capacity-building approaches to support children, youth, and related health systems.
What Pincus Family Foundation Funds
Health and global health anchor much of the foundation’s work. It gave $700,000 to Children’s Global Health Fund Inc. for general and unrestricted support, and $200,000 in both 2023 and 2024 for La Clinica de Familia La Romana. In Philadelphia, it also supported Manna with $100,000 in 2025 for meals for children impacted by serious illness and research collaboration with CHOP. Education and training appear as a separate thread: Temple University received $298,128 in 2023 and $298,128 in 2024 for the Pincus Urban Health Fellowship fund, while the Wistar Institute received $150,000 in 2025 for the Wistar High School Program in Biomedical Research and authentic classroom learning. The foundation also funds youth development through sports and coaching, including support for Laureus Sport for Good Foundation of America for training and support of Philadelphia’s interscholastic coaches with positive youth development best-practices and a focus on SEL.
