The Bethlehem Foundation directs substantial, targeted grants to local health-care providers, disability services, and community empowerment/housing organizations in Northern California, often funding operating needs. Its portfolio blends support for faith-affiliated health ministries and hospitals with civic tenant-advocacy and services for people with visual impairments, indicating a local, service-oriented philanthropic focus.
Bethlehem Foundation - Agy Main’s recent giving is marked by repeated support for local service organizations in Northern California, especially health care, housing, disability services, and community infrastructure. One clear pattern is multi-year backing for the same grantees: St Joseph Health Northern California received $250,000 in 2024, and St Joseph Home Care Network received $100,000 in 2025 for general operating support. The foundation also returned to community-serving nonprofits such as Communities Advocating for Resident Empowerment Inc, which received $222,703 in 2023 and $111,352 in 2024, both for general support. Across the portfolio, grants are often unrestricted or broadly designated, which points to a funder focused on sustaining organizations rather than financing narrow projects. Its grantees include faith-affiliated health ministries, tenant organizing groups, organizations serving people who are blind or visually impaired, and housing providers. The result is a local grantmaking profile centered on essential services, with several organizations appearing more than once across the recent grant list.
