Who can apply: For nonprofit organizations and artist-nonprofit partnerships developing projects that benefit Brooklyn communities. Proposals must include a public community engagement component. Full-time students are ineligible. Brooklyn-based artists or collectives must have a Brooklyn-based fiscal sponsor or community partner; NYC-based artists or collectives outside Brooklyn need a Brooklyn-based fiscal sponsor. Organizations that sought NYSCA funding are ineligible for this grant.

Who can apply: Eligible applicants are tax-exempt organizations located in Dutchess County, New York, or tax-exempt organizations serving Dutchess County residents that can clearly document the number of residents served. Exclusions include individuals, debt reduction, fundraising events and campaigns, most equipment, partisan political or election projects, schools except for specified community-service or disadvantaged-population professional-development programs, religious activities, and expenses incurred before award announcements.

Who can apply: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, government entities, or school districts. Universities and religious institutions may apply when requests serve a charitable community need. Only one proposal per organization may be considered each calendar year. Grants generally do not support ongoing annual or operating needs, salaries and fringe, marketing, fundraising-event sponsorships, endowment building, political purposes, loans or assistance to individuals, or activities completed before the Foundation's decision date.
