Discovery Grants (Cancer Research Discovery Grants)
Who can apply: Applicants must be organizations primarily focused on cancer research or have a dedicated cancer research division. Organizations must be located in and directly serve residents of Washington or Oregon and must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits or public institutions whose services and research align with the Foundation’s mission. Principal investigators must be located in Washington or Oregon. Grants to individuals, fundraising events, reserve funds or debt elimination, tuition assistance, capital campaigns, and discriminatory organizations are ineligible. Travel, meals, and conferences are generally not eligible.
Deadline: 2026 project brief due August 10; full proposal due October 16; decisions December 1. Two grant cycles are held per year, subject to the Foundation’s published schedule.
