Who can apply: Applicants must be nonprofit charitable organizations qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Organizations that have not received funding from the foundation in the last year are considered new grantees and must submit a letter of inquiry. Funding is generally focused on Orange County or regions where the foundation's directors reside. The foundation does not fund individual scholarships, religious institutions, debt retirement, budget deficits, or event sponsorships. Core operating support and capital campaigns may be considered.
Deadline: February 1: letter of inquiry deadline for new grantees; March 1: full proposal deadline for invited organizations and previous-year grantees.
