Who can apply: Applicants must be nonprofit organizations serving Montana. For requests over $10,000, applicants must submit a one-page letter of intent before applying and must have raised or committed at least 50% of the project's cost before submitting the letter of intent. Requests of $10,000 or less must address emergency situations.
Deadline: Requests of $10,000 or less may be submitted at any time for emergency situations. Requests over $10,000 are due by Tuesday, December 1, 2026, at 12:00 pm. The Foundation generally has four grant periods per year. Letters of intent for requests over $10,000 must be received three weeks before the application deadline.
