Who can apply: Applicants must be nonprofit organizations with IRS status. For requests over $10,000, grant seekers must have raised or committed at least 50% of the total project cost before submitting an application. Projects must benefit Montana communities and address capital campaigns, capital asset improvements, maintenance, or qualifying emergency situations.
Deadline: Requests of $10,000 or less may be submitted at any time for emergency situations. Requests over $10,000 are due Thursday, October 1, 2026, by 12:00 pm; LOIs for these requests are due three weeks before the application deadline. The Foundation generally has four grant periods per year.
