The Tom and Meg Names Family Foundation makes a small number of very large, mostly unrestricted gifts to regional institutions, with an emphasis on higher education and healthcare-related fundraising in the Pacific Northwest. They favor repeat, multi-year support for a handful of organizations rather than many small grants, and they appear comfortable funding faith-affiliated colleges and mission-driven care providers.

About Tom and Meg Names Family Fdn
Tom and Meg Names Family Fdn is defined by a small number of very large, often unrestricted gifts to institutions in Washington and the broader Pacific Northwest. The biggest recent award in the file is $2.8 million to Seven Acres Foundation in Chelan, followed by repeated seven-figure support for the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. That pattern points to a funder that backs a few organizations over multiple years rather than spreading grants widely. Higher education is a clear anchor: the foundation has made repeated grants to the University of Puget Sound, University of Portland, Westmont College, and Washington athletics programs. Health-related giving is another consistent thread, especially support tied to Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation and the Festival of Trees. The foundation also funds community-serving organizations such as Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, Greentrike Fund, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound. Across those awards, the common thread is flexible support for institutions with regional reach, including faith-affiliated colleges, youth-focused services, and community infrastructure.
