About Stanley S Langendorf Foundation
The Stanley S Langendorf Foundation concentrates its giving on organizations that directly serve residents of the City and County of San Francisco, with annual support in primary and secondary education, youth services, and social services. Recent grants show a mix of school support, community services, and health-related nonprofit funding tied to that local service area. A 2023 grant of $68,000 to Marin Academy in San Rafael points to education as a meaningful part of the portfolio, while repeated support for San Francisco institutions such as San Francisco General Hospital Foundation and UCSF Foundation shows sustained attention to community-facing services in the city. The foundation also backed youth-focused work through The Posse Foundation, including Bay Area activity, alongside grants to organizations serving broader public needs such as World Affairs Council and International Rescue Committee. The pattern is local in scope but varied in delivery, with grants reaching education providers, service organizations, and institutions serving residents across San Francisco.
What Stanley S Langendorf Foundation Funds
Education is a central focus. In 2023, the foundation gave $68,000 to Marin Academy in San Rafael for education, and also supported De La Salle High School in Concord and Smart in San Francisco for education in the same period. Youth services appear alongside schooling, including grants to The Posse Foundation and Posse Foundation - Bay Area for youth programming. Social services are another consistent thread: the foundation made grants to San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, UCSF Health, and UCSF Foundation for community and social services, linking its giving to organizations delivering direct support in San Francisco. The portfolio also includes community-oriented grants to World Affairs Council and International Rescue Committee, showing that the foundation’s program areas are interpreted through nonprofit services rather than a single type of institution.

The grant history shows repeated awards to some recipients across years, including San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, UCSF Foundation, The Posse Foundation, and Rancho Mirage Writers Festival.
