Horry County Grant (Designated Cy Pres Funds)

Who can apply: Funds must be used in Horry County, South Carolina, for civil legal aid, administration of justice, or law-related education. Funding is typically awarded to organizations with a brick-and-mortar office in Horry County and a proven track record of serving Horry County residents. The applicant must otherwise meet the Foundation's nonprofit and program eligibility requirements.

Deadline: Letter of Intent due October 1 each year for consideration in the upcoming cycle; full application cycle opens late November/early December and closes at the end of January.

Annual Grant Program (SC Bar Foundation Grants)

Who can apply: Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) or similar tax-exempt nonprofit, or another registered nonprofit that can explain its organizational structure, and must offer legal services to indigent individuals, law-related education for the public, or programs that improve the administration of justice in South Carolina. Civil legal aid funded by the Foundation must serve clients meeting income eligibility requirements based on federal poverty guidelines.
