The Pittulloch Foundation concentrates its giving in Georgia, funding regional community foundations, behavioral health and trauma-informed services (especially for children and families), and victim/survivor support services. Grants are often sizable and repeated to the same organizations, and the foundation also supports place-based capacity building and occasional conservation/education projects tied to the Chattahoochee corridor. Recipients are primarily local nonprofits and university programs delivering mental-health, anti-violence, and community resilience work across multiple Georgia regions.
The Pittulloch Foundation Inc. is marked by a clear pattern of large, repeated grants to Georgia nonprofits working on trauma, behavioral health, and family safety. In 2024, it gave $500,000 to Waycross Area Shelter for Abused Persons Inc for helping victims of family violence, alongside a $400,000 grant to Child Enrichment Inc for children’s behavioral health. The foundation also backed Georgia Center for Child Advocacy with two substantial grants, including $500,000 in 2023 and $350,000 in 2024, showing sustained support for child-focused services. Its giving also reaches regional intermediaries and collaboratives that build behavioral health capacity across the state, as well as selected education and conservation organizations tied to community well-being. Recent support includes university-based trauma-informed education work, hunger relief, and place-based public-land stewardship. Across the grant list, the foundation appears to favor organizations serving children, families, and local communities through direct services, prevention, and system-strengthening work.
A major share of the foundation’s giving supports behavioral health infrastructure in Georgia. It awarded $375,000 and $350,000 to Resilient Georgia for support behavioral health, and gave $250,000 each to Community Foundation of Central GA, Athens Area Community Foundation, Community Fnd for the Csra, and Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalitio for community behavioral health. Child and family trauma services are another clear priority: Wellroot Family Services received $200,000 for helping children with trauma, while Kennesaw State University received $330,000 for trauma informed education. The foundation also funds family-violence response, including $500,000 to Waycross Area Shelter for Abused Persons Inc and $200,000 to The Magnolia House, both in Waycross. Food-security grants appear as well, with $250,000 to Food Bank of Ne Georgia and $250,000 to Atlanta Community Food Bank for end hunger mission.
Grant sizes cluster in the upper midrange: p25 is $56,250, median is $200,000, and p75 is $200,000. That pattern indicates many awards land at a consistent $200,000 level, with occasional larger commitments. The grant list also shows repeat support to the same organizations across multiple years, including Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, Resilient Georgia, Community Foundation of Central GA, Athens Area Community Foundation, The Vashti Center, Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalitio, and United Way of Southwest Georgia. The foundation appears to make institutional grants rather than individual awards, and it does not make program-related investments. The recent record does not show an application process or unsolicited-grant route.
