The Laub Foundation concentrates its philanthropy on Greater Cleveland independent and parochial K–12 schools and local cultural and science institutions, providing recurring support to arts, music, and museum programs as well as elite and religious secondary schools. Its grants are typically program or education-oriented and often awarded repeatedly to the same institutions, suggesting long-term relationships with a defined set of local beneficiaries.
The Laub Foundation C/o Katherine Wolk shows a clear preference for Greater Cleveland education and cultural institutions, with repeat support flowing to schools, museums, and arts training groups. Recent grants include $9,000 to the Cleveland Institute of Music for educational grant support and multiple awards to the Cleveland Museum of Art- Student Programs, including $7,500 in 2023 and $6,000 in 2025. That pattern sits alongside steady funding for independent, preparatory, and religious schools across the region, along with local science and museum organizations. The foundation’s grant list suggests a long-term relationship model rather than one-off awards. Its beneficiaries include K–12 schools, scholarship recipients, arts organizations, and public-facing education institutions, with grants often framed as educational, artistic, or program support. Recurring awards to the same Cleveland-area organizations point to sustained engagement with a relatively defined circle of local institutions. The foundation also makes grants to specialized schools and youth-serving programs, including therapeutic education and music education organizations. In the recent grant set, all recipients are in the United States, and the foundation’s giving is heavily concentrated in Ohio.
In arts education, the foundation supported the Cleveland Museum of Art- Student Programs with $6,000 in 2025 and $7,500 in 2023, and it gave $5,500 in 2024 to the Cleveland Institute of Art for artistic support. It also funded the Cleveland Institute of Music with $9,000 for educational grant support. Its school-focused giving includes $5,000 grants to Urban Community School, Laurel School, and Friends of Cleveland School of the Arts. Other education grants in the list went to Lutheran West High School, Magnificat High School, St Ignatius High School, St Edward High School, Gilmour Academy, Hawken School, and Andrews Osborne Academy. The foundation also backs science and natural history education. Examples in the recent grants list include $5,000 to Great Lakes Science Center and $5,000 to Cleveland Museum of Natural History, both in Cleveland.
The typical grant size is tightly clustered: p25 is $3,500, median is $4,500, and p75 is $4,500. That points to a common grant level around the mid-$4,000 range, with occasional larger awards. The recent grant list shows repeated support across years for the same organizations, including the Cleveland Museum of Art- Student Programs and the Cleveland Institute of Art, which suggests ongoing relationships rather than isolated gifts. The foundation operates as a private grantmaker with assets of $4,129,129 and annual grants of $986,000. It also funds individuals.
