The Joseph and Carolyn DeMarco Foundation concentrates its giving on youth-serving organizations, particularly traditional club-based and faith-linked programs that provide after-school, mentorship, and recovery supports. Their support appears targeted and intentional—few grants but relatively large amounts—to established nonprofits that run youth development and ministry programs in the Philadelphia–New Jersey–New York region. Grants are made as direct awards to charitable organizations rather than project-specific line-items, suggesting core support or general operating assistance.
Concentrated giving: a small number of relatively large grants to established youth and faith-based organizations, awarded as general/organizational support rather than many small, distributed grants.
A $100,000 grant to Madison Square Boy's & Girl's Club Foundation set the high-water mark in the foundation’s recent giving, and it points to a clear pattern: The Joseph and Carolyn Demarco Foundation Inc backs youth-serving nonprofits with relatively large, selective awards. Its recent grants include club-based youth development, faith-linked ministries, and support organizations that work with children, teens, and young adults across Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York. The foundation’s support has gone to established charities rather than individuals, with awards that often sit in the five-figure range. Urban Promise Ministries received $35,000 in 2024 and Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County Inc received $25,000 in 2023, both fitting the organization’s emphasis on structured youth programming. Other recipients show a mix of community, educational, and ministry settings, including Temple University School of Dentistry, Villanova University, and St Matthias Church. The grant history suggests a funder that favors direct institutional support for nonprofits already operating in the communities it serves. Recipients appear repeatedly in the record, which indicates ongoing relationships rather than one-time gifts.
Youth development is the clearest throughline. The foundation gave $35,000 to Urban Promise Ministries in Camden for general support, and $25,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County Inc in Glassboro for general support. Earlier awards also went to club-style youth organizations, including a $100,000 grant to Madison Square Boy's & Girl's Club Foundation in Brooklyn. Faith-linked ministry is another recurring lane. Come to Believe Network in New York received $20,000 in 2024, while St Matthias Church in Bala Cynwyd received $12,500 in 2024 and $10,000 in 2023. The foundation also supports education- and community-oriented nonprofits. Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia received $12,500 in 2024 and $10,000 in 2023, and Villanova University in Villanova received $12,500 in both 2024 and 2023.
Typical awards fall around $6,500 at the 25th percentile, $10,000 at the median, and $12,500 at the 75th percentile, with a few larger outliers above that range. The record shows repeated support to the same organizations across years, including Urban Promise Ministries, Marina Orth Foundation, Villanova University, St Matthias Church, and Temple University School of Dentistry, which points to recurring rather than purely one-time giving. The foundation is a regular funder, not a DAF sponsor, and it does not make grants to individuals or program-related investments. Available grant entries read as direct awards to charitable organizations, consistent with institutional support.
