Preference for organizations that are self-sustaining or have clear potential to become self-sustaining; programs focused on strengthening economic base of low-income/disadvantaged communities. Domestic (U.S.) organizations only; scholarships targeted to low-income San Francisco Bay Area students. Foundation may consider exceptions if the request would be of significant assistance at a critical time.
