The Edwards Wyatt Foundation concentrates on a small number of relatively large, targeted gifts that support arts education and community behavioral-health services, primarily in New Mexico. They provide repeat, general operating support to flagship local institutions (notably the New Mexico School for the Arts) and also fund crisis-intervention and community youth organizations. Grants are a mix of multi-installment commitments and one-off donations for capacity items (e.g., a website).
Concentrated giving: relatively few, sizable grants with repeat funding to the same organizations. Predominantly unrestricted/general support and occasional targeted capacity grants; primary geographic focus in New Mexico with occasional out-of-state gifts.
The Edwards Wyatt Foundation Inc makes a small number of relatively large, targeted grants, with New Mexico recipients accounting for most of its recent giving. One of its clearest patterns is repeat support for the New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe, which received several $25,000 general donations in the recent grants list. The foundation also backed New Mexico Suicide Intervention in Santa Fe with two $48,000 installments for a new website, showing that it funds both operating support and specific capacity-building projects. Its recent grantmaking extends beyond a single institution. General donations also went to Oei Hope Foundation in Scottsdale and to the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, while Catching the Dream in Albuquerque received a smaller grant. Across these examples, the foundation’s giving looks selective rather than broad, with awards generally clustered around community-serving nonprofits and educational or behavioral-health work. The mix of repeated support and one-time project funding suggests a funder that combines ongoing relationships with targeted, episodic grants.
Arts education is a recurring theme. The New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe received multiple $25,000 general donations in the recent grants list, indicating sustained support for a state-level arts education institution. Behavioral health and crisis intervention are another clear area. New Mexico Suicide Intervention, also in Santa Fe, received two $48,000 installments for a new website, tying funding to digital capacity for a local suicide-intervention organization. The foundation also supports community-serving nonprofits outside arts and crisis services. The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati received a $30,000 general donation, and Catching the Dream in Albuquerque received a $5,000 general donation. Oei Hope Foundation in Scottsdale received two general donations, one in 2023 and one in 2024, showing that the foundation also makes repeat support to selected organizations.
Typical grant size sits in a narrow band: the 25th percentile is $25,000, the median is $25,000, and the 75th percentile is $30,000. That points to a grantmaker centered on mid-five-figure awards rather than a wide spread of sizes. The recent list also shows repeat support, including multiple grants to the same organizations and a multi-installment payment for a website project. The foundation makes grants to organizations rather than individuals, and it does not make program-related investments.
