Supports organizations that meet basic educational or humanitarian needs, giving priority to those that encourage spiritual transformation.
The David E & Cassie L Temple Foundation’s recent giving shows a clear preference for capital and operating support in Tulsa-area organizations, with large awards going to Oral Roberts University for capital improvements and capital campaign work and to the Tulsa Library Trust for capital campaign support. The foundation also funds direct service in basic needs and human services, including housing, case management, job training, food assistance, and family support. That mix reflects a grantmaker working across education, humanitarian needs, and faith-based programming rather than a single program silo. Recent grants also point to a recurring interest in institutions that connect services with spiritual formation. Stand in the Gap received support for women’s and widows’ programs, while Christian Chapel’s RFK Camp and counseling program was funded in consecutive years. The foundation’s support for Tulsa Cornerstone Assist Network, His House Outreach Ministries, and Helping Hands Ministry suggests sustained attention to practical assistance for families and individuals facing instability. In education, scholarships and summer literacy programming appear alongside facility and technology investments, indicating a willingness to fund both program delivery and organizational infrastructure.
Education is a major thread in the foundation’s grantmaking. It gave $25,000 to the University of Tulsa for scholarships and another $25,000 to Oral Roberts University for scholarships, while also supporting John 316 Mission with $25,000 for a summer literacy program. That pattern combines student aid, literacy, and institutional support. Human services show up in grants for families and basic needs. Helping Hands Ministry received $35,000 in 2024 and $30,000 in 2025 for families in need, and Tulsa Cornerstone Assist Network got $40,000 for a healthy food box program. Housing and case-management support also appear through a $40,000 grant to His House Outreach Ministries for housing, case management and job training. Faith-linked youth and family programming is another recurring focus. Christian Chapel received $35,000 in both 2024 and 2025 for RFK Camp and counseling, and Stand in the Gap received $40,000 for women’s and widows’ programs.

The recent list also includes larger awards at $35,000, $40,000, $50,000, and $75,000, showing room for capital and campaign support alongside smaller operating and program grants. The foundation appears to fund by application: it accepts grant proposals through a Grant Proposal Summary Form, with final decisions made annually by the Board of Trustees. Recurring support is present in the recent record, including repeated grants to Christian Chapel, Tulsa Library Trust, Tulsa Area United Way, and Oral Roberts University across 2024 and 2025.
Grantmaking is concentrated in Oklahoma, and every recent grant listed goes to a recipient in the state. Tulsa accounts for most of the activity, with additional grants in Claremore and Owasso. Recent recipients include Tulsa-based organizations such as Tulsa Library Trust, Little Light House, and Family Safety Center, plus Claremore-based His House Outreach Ministries and Owasso-based Oklahoma Baptist Children’s Home.
