About Chuck and Ernestina Kreutzkamp Foundation
The Kreutzkamp Foundation appears to be a small but high-dollar private funder that channels most of its grants through philanthropic intermediaries and donor-advised vehicles to support conservation and youth safety/skill-building initiatives. Major gifts fund specific programmatic initiatives (e.g., drowning prevention, Asian elephant conservation) and capacity-building/impact philanthropy efforts rather than broad general operating support. Their giving suggests preference for strategic, project-specific investments often delivered via fiscal sponsors or funds. They also support workforce pathways and youth mentoring through partnership grants in San Diego.

About Chuck and Ernestina Kreutzkamp Foundation
The Chuck and Ernestina Kreutzkamp Foundation’s recent giving is marked by large, repeated support for a small set of project-driven intermediaries. The clearest example is its multi-year commitment to Philanthropic Impact Foundation, which received $3.86 million in 2023 and then $1.5 million in both 2024 and 2025 for a bundle of initiatives that includes childhood drowning prevention, skilled trades, second chance hiring, impact philanthropy, and a Save Asian Elephants project. That pattern suggests a funder comfortable using fiscal or philanthropic partners to move capital into specialized programs rather than spreading support thinly across many one-off grants. The foundation also makes seven-figure awards to operating partners such as Charles Schwab, which received $2.3 million in both 2024 and 2025 as general support. Alongside those larger intermediary grants, the portfolio includes targeted gifts to local San Diego organizations, health institutions, and conservation groups. Across the recent grants list, the foundation appears to balance strategic thematic work with place-based support, especially where a project has a defined scope and implementation partner.
What Chuck and Ernestina Kreutzkamp Foundation Funds
A major theme is child drowning prevention. In 2025, the foundation gave $2.49 million to Philanthropic Impact Foundation for a childhood drowning prevention initiative, and its active programs include an Initiative to End Child Drowning focused on children ages 1 to 4. Conservation is another clear line of work: Wildcoast received $150,000 in 2025 for mangrove restoration in La Paz Bay, Mexico, mangrove restoration in Oaxaca and Chiapas, and conserving sea turtles in Mexico. The foundation also supports animal conservation through the Save Asian Elephants project within the Philanthropic Impact Foundation grant. In health and youth services, it gave $250,000 to Copley-Price Family YMCA for youth programs including Y-Strong Girls, Swimming With Diverse Abilities, camp, and its annual campaign goal. It also awarded $200,000 to Thorn for work eliminating child sexual abuse material from the internet.
How Chuck and Ernestina Kreutzkamp Foundation Gives
The recent grant sizes cluster around a median of $50,000, with a 25th percentile of $28,340 and a 75th percentile of $100,000. The foundation is a regular funder, not a DAF vehicle, and its portfolio includes repeated awards to the same organizations across multiple years. Philanthropic Impact Foundation appears in 2023, 2024, and 2025; Charles Schwab, Love One International, YMCA of San Diego County, Save the Children Federation Inc, and Wildcoast also recur. That repetition points to ongoing relationships rather than isolated grants. The foundation funds both general support and tightly defined projects, often through intermediaries or established local partners.
