Outdoor Classroom Garden Mini-Grant Program
Who can apply: Schools (minimum average daily attendance 100), 4-H clubs and FFA chapters. Garden must be on or adjacent to school site (for schools). Project must be advised by an Agriculture Extension Agent and an NRCS Area Conservationist; a farmer volunteer (preferably a county Farm Bureau board member) must serve as a project advisor. Teacher and parent involvement required. Applicants must have attended or agree to attend an Agriculture in the Classroom University Workshop (or send another teacher). Projects must include production agriculture crops or production livestock; funds may not be used for flower/butterfly/nature trails.
Deadline: No application deadline. Applications accepted as long as grant funding is available (rolling). Project reports and pictures are due to the Tennessee Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom by May 1 (reporting deadline).
