Humble Leadership Award
Who can apply: Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or fiscally sponsored project with a 501(c)(3) sponsor; be based in and serve communities in Orange County; have an annual operating budget of $1 million or less; not have received direct Sun Family Foundation funding in the past three years; and be engaged in charitable work and able to receive grant funds. Ineligible organizations include 501(c)(4) organizations, political organizations, lobbying groups, organizations seeking capital or equipment funding, and organizations with senior leaders or board members who have specified conflicts with the foundation. Applicants should demonstrate strong community-centered leadership, authentic community connection, a track record of trust, a vision for change, commitment to learning, and meaningful work that has been under-recognized.
Deadline: Applications open October 12, 2026 and close December 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM PT. Grant notifications and fund distribution are planned for Q1 2027.
