STA Accreditation & Spring Grant (Spring Grant Awards)
Who can apply: Organization must be a 501(c)(3) or registered charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency; in operation for at least two years at close of application; compliant with all applicable licensing/permitting requirements; have a written euthanasia policy consistent with AAEP standards; board members, staff and volunteers must not be party to legal proceedings connected with the applicant; must have cared for a minimum of five Standardbreds in the year prior to close of applications; adoption contracts must prohibit breeding; post-adoption protocol must document horse location and condition for at least two years and include a commitment to resume care if requested; organizations must meet STA accreditation standards and best practices.
Deadline: Annual accreditation application deadline is October 15; 2027 application open until October 15, 2026.
