Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust Animal Welfare Grants
Who can apply: Applicants must be U.S.-based organizations with a current IRS 501(c)(3) ruling, located in Ohio or selected counties in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, or Wisconsin. Organizations must demonstrate proper financial stewardship, financial support from all board members, sustainable revenue for basic sheltering/rescue/care activities, high-quality humane care, appropriate written animal-care policies and records, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for individual animals and significant numbers of animals. Preference is given to organizations established for more than five years with annual budgets exceeding $50,000. Ineligible requests include capital projects, general operating support, multi-year requests, individual support, breed-specific organizations, farmed or exotic animal projects, government agencies, media, litigation, legislative advocacy, deficit reduction, endowments, and fundraising events.
Deadline: LOI deadlines are December 15, April 15, and July 15; corresponding full application deadlines are January 15, May 15, and August 17 (2026 calendar shown). The next projected cycle after the published 2026 dates is December 15, 2026 for the LOI and January 15, 2027 for the full application.
