CARES Foundation Community Grants (Quarterly Small Grants)
Who can apply: Applicants must be nonprofit organizations or programs serving communities in The Save Mart Companies' service area. The foundation does not fund individuals, fundraisers, for-profit groups, professional associations, religious congregations, organizations receiving the majority of their funding from government or related agencies, staff costs, or organizations with overhead generally exceeding 20%. Organizations receiving grants for more than one year must demonstrate meaningful outcomes from the prior investment. Requests below $500 should be directed to the nearest Save Mart Companies store manager.
Deadline: 2026 quarterly deadlines: February 18 (Q1), May 11 (Q2), August 10 (Q3 Feeding Forward cycle), and November 10 (Q4). The Q4 cycle is open to applications under the general giving guidelines.
