The Ron and Lisa Fenech Foundation concentrates its philanthropy on local, direct-service human services in the Naples/Southwest Florida area, prioritizing organizations that provide basic needs and crisis support. The foundation makes relatively few, large grants and tends to fund repeat grantees that deliver frontline services such as food rescue and women's care. Their giving suggests an emphasis on immediate impact and sustaining trusted community partners.
Concentrated and high-value: a small number of sizable grants with repeat funding to core grantees (majority of dollars directed to one primary nonprofit).
The Ron and Lisa Fenech Foundation’s giving is marked by large, repeated support for Lifeline, with $500,000 awarded in both 2023 and 2024. That two-year pattern signals a funder that backs a small set of organizations with substantial grants rather than spreading support thinly across many recipients. The foundation also made a $110,000 grant to Cultivate Food Rescue in South Bend and $100,000 to Women’s Care Center in Elkhart, placing direct-service work at the center of its recent philanthropy. Across the recent grants list, the foundation appears to favor organizations that meet immediate community needs: food rescue, family support, women’s care, housing, and related local services. Several grants recur across years, including support for Boys & Girls Club, Harbor Springs Historical Society, Ryan’s Place, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Little Traverse Conservancy, and Gargiulo Education Center. That repeat pattern, combined with grant amounts often in the five-figure range, suggests an established portfolio built around trusted partners and sustained operating support.
Human services and crisis response are a clear thread in the foundation’s grantmaking. It gave $500,000 to Lifeline in 2024 for exempt purposes of organization, matching a $500,000 grant in 2023. Food rescue and hunger relief also appear prominently: Cultivate Food Rescue received $110,000 in 2024 and $7,500 in 2023. Women’s and family support is another area of focus, shown by a $100,000 grant to Women’s Care Center (Naples) in 2023 and $45,000 plus $40,000 to Child and Parent Services (CAPS) in 2023 and 2024. The foundation also supported housing and community access through Habitat for Humanity grants in Goshen and Northwest Michigan, including $50,000 in 2024 to Habitat for Humanity (Goshen).
Typical grant size clusters around $5,000 at the 25th percentile, $10,000 at the median, and $25,000 at the 75th percentile, but the recent grant list shows a few much larger awards that anchor the portfolio. The foundation gives nationally, though its grants are concentrated in a handful of repeated recipients over multiple years, including several organizations funded in both 2023 and 2024. It does not fund individuals and does not make program-related investments. The pattern is consistent with direct institutional support rather than one-off personal giving.
