Movement Grant Cycle
Who can apply: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in Maine, or organizations using a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. In rare instances, organizations based outside Maine may be considered if their work is conducted in Maine. Applicants may submit only one request per grant cycle and may apply in either Movement or Nourishment, but not both. The foundation tends to fund smaller organizations and startups and generally does not fund organizations with budgets over $2,000,000, individuals, government agencies, educational institutions, hospitals and clinics, religious programs, or projects outside Maine.
Deadline: Autumn applications are open September 1 through October 31, with notifications January 1. Winter applications are open December 1 through January 31, with notifications April 1. Applicants may apply in only one period.
