Disaster Response

Who can apply: Eligible applicants include animal welfare and human services organizations designated as authorized disaster responders, or Canadian registered charities such as pet shelters, veterinary clinics, human service organizations with pet-focused programming, municipalities, and Indigenous communities directly impacted by a disaster.

Deadline: Requests must be submitted within 90 days of the disaster.

Adoption Partner Program

Who can apply: Open to organizations seeking approval as in-store Adoption Partners. The page indicates PetSmart Charities of Canada is always accepting new Adoption Partners.

Adoption Growth

Who can apply: Must be an approved and active PetSmart Charities adoption partner, compliant with policies, procedures, and reporting requirements, ensure all in-store adoptions are processed through AME and reconciled, and meet the minimum required in-store adoptions for the relevant cohort. Cohort 1 requires 100+ adoptions in Canada and Puerto Rico over the last 12 months; Cohort 2 requires 1+ adoption in the last 12 months.
