Who can apply: Only organizations actively recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3) non-profits can be considered. Schools, state governments, and churches may apply without a valid 501(c)(3) status. The foundation is highly selective and tends to favor organizations with an existing relationship. It cannot consider food insecurity requests with an immediate or short-term time frame and prioritizes long-term food-related projects with a water focus. It does not fund foreign charities/agencies/NGOs, individuals, camps, group homes, sexuality & diversity issues, school security, playgrounds, health & medical research or treatment (including Parkinson's Disease), mental & behavioral health, substance abuse, services for the disabled, or developmental disabilities.
