The Palace Head Foundation concentrates its giving on place‑based civic and cultural institutions that enhance public spaces and community life in affluent communities. Major support goes to land/park conservation and high‑profile cultural organizations, with occasional gifts to local historical societies, private schools, and niche recreational groups. Their grants tend to be sizable and targeted rather than broadly distributed, and several organizations receive repeat funding.
Palace Head Foundation Inc C/o Forvis Mazars directs much of its giving to place-based institutions that shape parks, cultural life, and community amenities. A single recent grant set the tone: $400,000 to Trust for Public Land in San Francisco for community and charitable purposes, followed by additional large gifts to the same organization in 2023. The pattern suggests a funder that favors targeted support for public-space conservation rather than a broad, highly dispersed portfolio. Beyond land conservation, the foundation backs arts and heritage organizations that serve specific local communities. Recent awards include Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, Esplanade Association in Boston, and Historical Society of Palm Beach. The mix of recipients points to interests in civic beautification, cultural programming, and preservation work tied to recognizable local institutions. Its grantmaking also reaches schools and community-serving nonprofits, including Boulder Country Day School, Harvard College Fund, United South End Settlements, and West Palm Beach Library Foundation 2561. The overall picture is of a foundation making relatively large, designated grants to organizations with a clear local footprint and a public-facing mission.
In land and park conservation, Palace Head Foundation Inc C/o Forvis Mazars gave $400,000 to Trust for Public Land in 2023, with two additional 2023 grants of $222,106 and $122,000 to the same organization. That establishes conservation as a major part of the foundation’s civic giving. Arts and heritage are another visible thread. The foundation awarded Society of the Four Arts $125,000 in 2024 and $110,000 in 2025, while also giving $110,000 to Historical Society of Palm Beach in 2023. In Boston, Esplanade Association received $121,000 in 2023, $76,500 in 2024, and $75,000 in 2025. Education and community-serving institutions also appear in the recent list. Gifts include $81,000 to Boulder Country Day School in 2023, $50,000 to Harvard College Fund in 2023, and $35,000 and $25,000 to West Palm Beach Library Foundation 2561 in 2024 and 2025.
Typical grants are mid-sized: the 25th percentile is $1,500, the median is $3,000, and the 75th percentile is $8,750. At the same time, the recent list shows a set of larger, targeted awards, which indicates a mixed pattern of many smaller grants alongside a narrower group of major gifts. The foundation also appears to fund repeat recipients across multiple years. Trust for Public Land, Esplanade Association, Society of the Four Arts, Society for the Protection of Nh Forests, and United South End Settlements all appear more than once in the recent grants list. The foundation funds organizations rather than individuals and makes no program-related investments. The data does not show a public application process.
