About Mountain America Foundation
Mountain America Foundation concentrates its giving in Utah, making a small number of large grants that support community cultural institutions and regional healthcare/rehabilitation services. The foundation is a major backer of Hale Centre Theatre’s professional family theatre and theater education programs while also funding specialized rehab services (Neuroworx) and local healthcare system fundraising (Intermountain Healthcare). About Mountain America Foundation
Mountain America Foundation’s largest recent gifts center on professional family theatre and theatre education, with $600,000 grants in 2024 and 2025 to Hale Centre Theatre-related entities. That same pattern shows up in other major awards: $500,000 to Neuroworx for activity-based rehabilitation, and $250,000 to Intermountain Healthcare Fnd for regional fundraising and healthcare programs across Utah and Southeast Idaho. The foundation also funds hospital hospitality support, underrepresented student scholarships, and relief work for food insecurity and displaced populations. The grant record points to program-specific support rather than broad unrestricted giving. Several awards are tied to named services and defined purposes, such as assistance for parents staying near hospitalized children, scholarships at the University of Utah, and pantry pack initiatives for people without access to food. Recent gifts also include support for religious education, disaster relief, and public school programming, showing a mix of local community, education, health, and human services funding. Most grants land in Utah, but the foundation’s reach extends into Idaho and other communities through scholarships and regional partner organizations. Mountain America Foundation also funds individuals directly, including academic scholarships to graduating students and college scholarship recipients.
