More Than The Move Foundation (Hope Legacy Collective) makes a small number of large, flexible grants to a handful of community-focused organizations in the Houston area, concentrating on capacity-building and direct response work. Their giving is directed to repeat partners and intermediary organizations that provide broad charitable support rather than narrow program line items, with a notable emphasis on disaster/ frontline response and community development.
A $250,000 grant to Impact Foundation- Wiserock set the tone for More Than The Move Foundation DBA Hope Legacy Collective’s recent giving: large, flexible support routed to organizations that can use it for broad charitable purposes. The foundation’s grant list shows repeat commitments to a small circle of partners over multiple years, including United In Purpose, Icm, and Mission X Mission, which points to an approach built around sustained relationships rather than one-off awards. Their giving also reaches organizations working on community response, faith-based outreach, and local charitable support, with grants that are often designated simply for charitable purposes rather than narrow program line items. The pattern is especially visible in Texas, where the foundation has made most of its grants, while also backing partners in places such as Virginia, Georgia, Minnesota, California, and Colorado. With annual grants of more than $4.1 million and total assets above $59 million, the foundation operates at a level that allows it to combine sizable awards with recurring support for a limited set of grantees. Individuals are also within scope of its giving.
Community resilience is a clear theme in the foundation’s work. In 2025, it gave $161,000 to Frontline Response in Atlanta and $35,200 to Elijah Rising in Houston, both marked for charitable purposes. The foundation also supports intermediary organizations that can direct resources broadly: United In Purpose received $225,000 in 2025 and $225,000 in 2024, each listed for support for charitable purposes. Another recurring area is faith- or values-based community initiatives, reflected in grants such as $131,000 to The Send in Huntington Beach and $70,000 to Mxtv in Franklin, Tennessee. Community development and impact housing or asset-building also appears through support to Impact Foundation- Wiserock, which received $250,000 in 2024 and $103,000 in 2023.
Typical awards are small relative to the largest grants, with a p25 of $3,950, a median of $9,872, and a p75 of $25,000. At the top end, the foundation does make six-figure grants, but the distribution shows a much larger number of modest awards. The same organizations reappear across years, including United In Purpose, Icm, Steiger, Mission X Mission, and Mylifespeaks, which suggests recurring support rather than isolated gifts. The foundation’s grants are listed as support for charitable purposes, indicating flexible funding. It also funds individuals, and it does not make program-related investments.
