About Micah Philanthropies
Micah Philanthropies focuses its giving on Jewish communal life in New England, with the bulk of funds going to Jewish day school education and emergency/community relief. Grants are large and targeted, supporting multi-year operating needs for a single Jewish academy and regional federation-led crisis responses (Israel, Ukraine). The foundation shows a preference for a small number of high-value, mission-aligned recipients rather than broad, diversified giving.

About Micah Philanthropies
Micah Philanthropies concentrates its giving on Jewish communal life, with especially large support for Orthodox women’s Torah leadership, Jewish day schools, and emergency response tied to Israel and Ukraine. The recent record shows a foundation that makes a few high-value, mission-aligned grants rather than many small ones, and that is willing to sustain recipients over multiple years. One example is Yeshivat Maharat, which received $453,000 in 2025 after prior awards of $443,000 in 2024 and $358,000 in 2023 for general funding. Another recurring beneficiary is New England Jewish Academy Aka Hhne, which received $793,000 in 2025 after earlier support of $775,000 in 2024 and $775,000 in 2023 for academic-year support. The foundation also backs field-building and institutional infrastructure within Orthodox Jewish life. Recent grants include $277,000 to Prizmah for its Orthodox women leadership program and general support, $225,000 to Ohr Torah Stone for the Halachic Prenuptial Initiative, and $200,000 to American Friends of Nishmat for general funding. In the education and community-relief space, Micah Philanthropies gave $1,075,000 to the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford for an Israel emergency campaign, a community grant, and JDC for Ukraine.
What Micah Philanthropies Funds
Orthodox women’s Torah leadership is a clear funding thread. Micah Philanthropies gave $277,000 to Prizmah in 2025 for its Orthodox women leadership program and general support, after prior grants of $200,000 in 2023 and $150,000 in 2024 for the same program area. Advanced rabbinic training is another recurring focus. Yeshiva University received $250,000 in 2024 and $250,000 in 2025 for GPATS program support, while Hadar Institute received $200,000 in 2024 for its advanced rabbinic training program and $350,000 in 2025 for general funding. The foundation also funds community infrastructure and response. Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford received $370,000 in 2023 to establish a free loan society and make an annual campaign gift, and Jewish Federations of North America received $275,000 in 2023 for Live Secure and general support.
