The LLHLHM Foundation (Margaret Baird, trustee) appears to make targeted, local grants focused on youth development, supporting programs that build self-confidence and positive youth outcomes. Their giving is very concentrated — the available record shows a single $25,000 grant to an organization focused on youth empowerment, suggesting a preference for direct support of community-level youth services in their home region.
Concentrated, one-off or infrequent larger grant(s) to single community organizations rather than many small gifts; appears to favor direct program support to local youth-serving nonprofits.
A repeated pattern of $20,000 grants to youth-serving nonprofits defines Llhlhm Foundation Margaret Baird Trustee’s recent giving. The foundation’s record shows support for organizations working with children and youth through self-esteem programming, youth development, and services for young people with disabilities, alongside a smaller set of environmental and health-related grants. In 2025, the largest award in the recent list was $25,000 to Self-estem in Oakland for youth development, and the foundation also continued multi-year support for Hamakua Youth Foundation in Hawaii. That same year, it backed 1st Place for Youth, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Good Samaritan Haven, and Direct Relief at $20,000 each, showing a consistent preference for direct program support and general operating support rather than a single thematic niche. Across the available grant record, the foundation appears to favor nonprofits serving children, teens, and young adults, including disability-focused youth services and community-based youth programs.
Youth development is the clearest thread in the recent grant record. The foundation gave $25,000 to Self-estem in Oakland for youth development and supported Circesteem the Chicago Youth Circus with $20,000 in 2025 for youth development. It also awarded $22,000 and $20,000 to Hamakua Youth Foundation Inc in Honokaa for youth development across 2023 and 2025, suggesting repeated interest in the same type of work. The portfolio also includes programs for youth with disabilities. Waypoint Adventure Inc in Lexington received $20,000 in 2025 for youth development for the disabled, after earlier $20,000 grants in 2023 and 2024 for the same purpose. Environmental education and community green work appear as another lane: Earth Force Inc in Denver received $20,000 in 2024 and 2023 for environmental education, while Groundwork Lawrence in Lawrence received $20,000 in 2025 for a green team project and $20,000 in 2024 for environmental program.
The typical grant size is tightly clustered: p25 is $10,000, median is $20,000, and p75 is $20,000. That points to a portfolio centered on standard $20,000 awards, with occasional lower or higher amounts such as $15,000, $16,000, $18,000, $22,000, and $25,000. The recent record shows repeated support to the same recipients across multiple years, including several organizations that received grants in 2023, 2024, and 2025. The foundation is a regular funder rather than a donor-advised fund vehicle, makes no program-related investments, and does not fund individuals.
