Discretionary Grants
Who can apply: Applicants must provide evidence of IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and confirm they are not private foundations. Projects generally must be within the Greater Philadelphia area, be achievable within a relatively brief period, and be expected to become self-supporting or supported by other sources after the grant. The Foundation generally does not fund ordinary operating expenses, medical or scientific research, construction or acquisition of facilities, projects expected to require Foundation grants beyond three years, repeat applicants year after year, individuals, scholarships, research, or legislative lobbying and focused litigation.
