This grant will have a transformational impact on SafeSpaces emergency shelter located within Martin County. It will greatly improve the security and safety of the women and children who are temporarily residing there. Abusive partners often attempt to locate survivors by stalking them at their place of employment childrens schools and doctors appointments. With this grant SafeSpace will be able to upgrade the security cameras monitors and fence at its emergency shelter and make improvements to the kitchen and playground that will significantly impact the security comfort and independence of survivors of intimate partner violence and their children. |

We will sustain this project with public sales of preserved items with House of Hope branding fees collected from those attending paid training classes grants and philanthropy and raising awareness of our mission. |

Integrated into Project LIFTs proven model participants receive vocational training alongside mental health support case management and job readiness coaching. Graduates leave with the skills certifications and employer connections needed for stable careers transforming their futures and strengthening the local workforce. |

The ARC of the Treasurer Coast Caring Cafe is a new on the job training program for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities featuring employment training and coaching singly focused on the success of each trainee. Located in Stuarts Alices Restaurant this social enterprise will offer a training site where individuals with differing abilities can learn all aspects of food service preparing for a career in a restaurant or similar setting. Trainees will receive support from the ARC job coach and their typical peers who will also benefit from the program through the experience of working in an environment celebrating inclusion. |

The One Health Fish Monitoring Project is an innovative science-research project that aims to better understand the transfer of pollutants from Martin County waterways to fish commonly consumed by humans. With the help of citizen scientists and professional collaborators we will comprehensively assess a variety of harmful pollutants including heavy metals biotoxins pharmaceuticals and forever-chemicals PFAS in fish fillets. The data gathered from this project will help us better understand the potential human health risk exposure to these pollutants has on Martin County residents as well as arm the community with unbiased data in the fight for clean water. |

The request is to be used to implement a pilot program in Martin County for a walk-in behavioral health clinic serving minors in need of immediate behavioral health appointments. This would serve youth and their families asking for a same day appointment to establish care for mental health needs. The need to provide timely support for behavioral health is missing in Martin County. While planning this pilot program much has been learned from the challenges and successes of a similar program offered to the youth of Indian River County. There is confidence in the ability to enable the same sustainability in order to continue support for our youth and families. |
